eQHealth Solutions is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for Louisiana. In this capacity, eQHealth is the leader in driving quality and scientific-based approaches to the delivery of health care across all settings statewide. eQHealth has consistently produced leading results among a national network of Medicare QIOs, particularly in the areas of disease prevention, wellness and chronic care. Our scope of work includes working with providers, hospitals, beneficiaries, nursing homes, home health agencies, governments and community-based organizations throughout the state to lead quality improvement initiatives.

In Mississippi, eQ Health Solutions is the Medicaid QIO for the State of Mississippi and is Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC)-certified as a utilization management organization. eQHealth operates a large call center in Jackson, Mississippi and has been conducting quality and utilization management services in an array of inpatient and outpatient settings since 1997. eQHealth also provides consulting services to the State of Mississippi, in the areas of family planning waiver assessment, community-based behavioral health alternatives for adolescents, peer consultation, medical policy, evaluation of new medical technology and data base management and IT services.

We are also the Regional Extension Center for Health Information Technology in Mississippi. In this role, we are a nationwide leader in assisting primary care physician practices and small rural hospitals adopt electronic health records.

In Illinois, eQ Health Solutions is the Medicaid QIO for the State of Illinois, conducting quality and utilization management for inpatient acute medical/surgical, behavioral health and detoxification hospitalizations. Our services are conducted for both per diem and prospective payment environments. eQHealth has consistently achieved significant impact in quality of care and program savings since its inception in 2002. We conduct coding and DRG validation and provide extensive program and policy consulting services. eQHealth also conducts clinical research projects, develops criteria and provides extensive consultation for Illinois’ Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver programs.

In Florida, eQHealth was recently selected to implement a comprehensive Medicaid utilization management program designed to prevent unnecessary or inappropriate use of services. The systems designed by eQHealth Solutions will help the Florida AHCA improve care quality for beneficiaries while reducing costs. Some components of the contract include conducting prior authorization of hospital services, home health care and therapy services. In addition, eQHealth will manage the appropriate length of stay for newborn babies that require intensive care and design and implement a comprehensive program to reduce home health fraud in the Miami-Dade area.
